Bike routes in Valencia
Valencia rides well on two wheels for one specific reason: the old bed of the river Turia crosses the city as a nine-kilometre park with a continuous path, almost no traffic crossings the whole way. Our shop is at Guadalaviar 3, right on that path, so the routes don't start "downtown" — they start at the door.
The four routes we're asked about most
Turia Gardens — 23.3 km, about 104 minutes of riding. The base route: end to end through the park and back. It's the route for a first taste of the city, for riding with kids, and for anyone who'd rather not think about traffic.
The Albufera — 51.0 km, about 227 minutes. The long ride in the catalogue: out of the city to the south, towards the natural park, the rice fields and El Palmar. Book the full day or 24 hours.
Malvarrosa beach — 16.2 km, about 72 minutes. The half-day plan: the Turia path down to the sea and along the promenade. It fits the four-hour rate exactly; with the full day, there's no rush.
City of Arts and Sciences — 5.2 km, about 23 minutes. The shortest: it's right in the riverbed itself, so you ride the same path without ever leaving the park.
Two more routes
Old town — 7.0 km, about 40 minutes. The old town on the cycle ring: the Serranos Towers, the Quart Towers, the Central Market and the Town Hall Square. Fits into four hours with stops.
The huerta and Alboraya — 20.7 km, about 108 minutes. Huerta lanes to Alboraya and Port Saplaya, and back along the Patacona seafront. With stops, the full day is better.
Which bike fits which plan
For the Turia route and the City of Arts, the city bike (€12.00 full day) is enough. For the beach or the Albufera, the electric city bike (€21.00 full day) takes the sting out of the ride back; and if the route crosses earth or sand, the electric fat bike (€32.00 full day). Riding with two children, the cargo bike (€35.00 full day).
Which duration to book
As a rule of thumb: routes under 5.2 km round trip fit inside 4 hours (within opening hours). Beyond that, the full day is the rate almost everyone uses, because it covers the stops — and on every adult model it costs less than 24 hours. The full day is due back at the shop that same evening, before we close: 19:00 Monday–Friday; no full-day rentals on Saturdays.
When to go
In spring and autumn you can ride at any time of day. In July and August the sensible plan is to head out early or from six in the evening: the riverbed has shade in stretches, but the seafront and the Albufera tracks are open. If your ride ends after dark, note that most of the park is lit, but the rice-field tracks are not.
How the routes connect
All four routes share the same axis, so you can chain them together without going back to the shop: the Turia Gardens lead to the City of Arts, and from there you continue to the sea via the river mouth, or south towards the Albufera. A full day lets you take on two of them at an easy pace; with four hours, it’s better to pick one.
Before you book
Look at the duration you need first, then the model. For a 4-hour rental, the latest possible pick-up is 15:00 Monday–Friday and 11:00 Saturday, so the bike is returned within opening hours. Check the calendar for available times. Full day: Monday–Friday only, with return by 19:00 the same day. Helmet and lock are included. Adult bikes also include a basket and rear rack; kids’ bikes do not have a basket. The amount you see on the prices page is what’s charged.
